Lucerne Valley Elementary School students picked up their free books at the school’s Literacy Night on Thursday, November 14.
Besides getting their books, students enjoyed literacy activities in select classrooms. Local author Millie Rader and other contributors of the new Lucerne Valley historical book were on hand to discuss the town’s interesting history, and the LVES Booster Club cooked hotdogs and nachos.
“It was wonderful to see the kids’ reactions to getting their books,” said Vici Miller, lead special education teacher for the Lucerne Valley Unified School District.
