Parents were treated to a special showcase presented by Lucerne Valley Elementary School’s After-School All-Stars students and staff. The afterschool program focuses on collective talents and it showed during the January 15th performance, which put the spotlight on electives.
The program began in the multi-purpose room with the elective “Shake It Up,” followed by “Lights, Camera, Action,” “Super Heroes” and “Yoga.” During yoga, students showed what they had learned on yoga mats. The students also created their own comedy commercial.
The guests then moved to classrooms for “Family Game Night” in Room 6 and “Expressive Art” in Room 7.
The school’s After-School All-Stars programs help to empower young people to succeed. The programs help to improve student achievement and attendance and build a sense of belonging for kids within their school community, according to After-School All-Stars.
