Jamie P. Farrell Named May Employee of the Month

Elementary school substitute teacher — and future physical education instructor — Jamie P. Farrell was named the May Employee of the Month during the Thursday, May 12th meeting of the Lucerne Valley USD’s Board of Trustees.

The award was presented by Superintendent Peter Livingston. School bus driver Sherri Brown also was chosen as the Employee of the Month for May but was unable to attend. She will be honored at a later meeting.

Jamie “J.P” Farrell - Certificated

Jamie “J.P.” Farrell, who served as the Elementary School’s resident substitute for the 2021-22 school year, has been the ultimate utility player acting as a substitute teacher, long-term sub, campus monitor, instructional aide, intervention teacher, and any role he needed to fill in for the elementary site, Mr. Livingston said.

“With his friendly demeanor and easy-going personality, Mr. Farrell instantly became a part of the LVES team. You can often see him participating in spirit days and attending school events. He is well-liked by students and staff and has even made an impression on parents. You can see him welcoming parents and students in the drop-off area and even conversing with our Spanish-speaking families during the morning.”

Mr. Livingston also said that J.P., who has a passion for Physical Education,  has been selected as the Elementary School site’s Physical Education teacher for next year.
“We’re very excited for our kids,” he said.

School Board Vice-President Chelsea LaGrange conducted the meeting as part of the board’s practice of rotating who runs the meeting to develop all board members as leaders.
