Second-grader Mateo Maturano Arizaga and 4th-grader Olivia Herrera were recognized as Students of the Month by the Lucerne Valley USD’s Board of Trustees at the monthly meeting on November 13th. Lucerne Valley Elementary School Assistant Principal Mrs. Suzie Manley presented the award winners to the school board.

Proud family members were in attendance during the presentation.

Second-grader Mateo Maturano Arizaga was nominated by his teacher Mrs. Berletich. “Mateo exemplifies what it means to be the student of the month excelling in both academics and just overall thoughtfulness and kindness to all his peers,” Mrs. Manley said.

Olivia Herrera, a 4th grader, was nominated by her teacher Mrs. McKinney. “Olivia is a leader both inside the classroom and out,” according to Mrs. Manley. “Meeting her AR goals early and being chosen as a house leader for the house of Altruismo, Olivia is kind, thoughtful, and an overall great student.”
